Now, my next item was so much fun to make! I used the Fancy Favor Bigz Die as a "gift" card set. It holds 4 3x3 cards and 4 mini envelopes. I got this original idea from my upline. I changed it up a little bit. I also seen some leadership pics, and got the ideas for the cards.

NOW.. for the BIGGIE news!!! Stampin Up Is going to change the whole concept of the catalogs:

New Catalog Strategy

Great things are happening at Stampin' Up! Today at Leadership 2012 we were pleased to announce a new catalog strategy intend to increase your sales by enabling you to distribute the catalog to more people than ever before! These changes--and this strategy--has been in the works for well over a year and is in direct response to consistent requests from demonstrators and customers. We are thrilled about these changes, and are looking forward excitedly for June 1, 2012, when the new annual catalog goes live and this strategy will be fully implemented!
So what are the changes?
In a nutshell, starting June 1, 2012, Stampin' Up! will release one annual catalog, comparable to (but smaller than) the current Idea Book & Catalog, and two seasonal catalogs, comparable to (but larger than) the current mini catalogs.
Pretty simple, right? Here are the details:
Annual Catalog

The annual catalog will run from June 1, 2012 (preorder in May) through May 31, 2013.
The annual catalog will be reduced from over 240 pages in the current Idea Book & Catalog to 208 pages.
The annual catalog will be printed on lighter-weight paper.
The annual catalog will cost $15.00 US/ $18.50 CAN per case of eight--that is an almost
50 percent reduction from your current cost!
Celebrando Creatividad will remain unchanged.
Mailing Selector will now be available to send annual catalogs, and will remain open throughout the life of the catalog.

The reduced cost of the annual catalog will enable you to distribute the catalog to a much wider audience, while giving you the chance to earn more by exposing more people to your business!
Seasonal Catalogs

The Occasions, Summer, and Holiday Mini Catalogs will be replaced by two seasonal catalogs called the Holiday Catalog and the Spring Catalog.
- The first Holiday Catalog will run from August 1, 2012 (preorder in July). through the beginning of January, 2013
- The first Spring Catalog will run from the beginning of January, 2013 (preorder in December) through May 31, 2013.
The seasonal catalogs will be larger in both size (8 1/2" x 11") and page count (about 40 pages) than the current mini catalogs.
The cost for an 8-pack of seasonal catalogs will NOT change from the cost of 8-pack of the current mini catalogs!
Mailing Selector will remain open throughout the life of the seasonal catalog.

These new seasonal catalogs will give you a longer selling period for each than with the current mini catalogs (more time for your customers to buy), more room to include seasonal-specific products (more things for your customers to buy)--all at no additional cost for you to hand them out!

Hi Everyone! I hope your Wednesday has been fantabulous so far! I was able to take a few hours to play in my studio.. which was quite relaxing! I did some blog surfing earlier and I found that Shellie Gardner had some most adorable things on her blog lately with the new die called Elegant Bird. I have to say.. I am in love with this die! So many fun possibilities! I made a few cards today after being inspired. I will share one today .. and another tomorrow. (Stay tuned!)

Hi bloggers! Woweee.. it has been way too long since I posted last. What is up with that? I really dont have an answer.. other than maybe.. lazy? *gasp* I have been stamping tho.. and I have lots to share. I love love love the new Mini Occasions Catalog. It is full of some very yummy product - I'm enjoying it all!

I thought I'd share this card with you today. It used just a few different things on it really! Let's show you the card and then I will give you the ingredients for it:

This card was so SIMPLE to make! I love the new Cards & Envelope set on page 9 of the Mini. They are called "Designer Cuts" and they are fabulous! They come in a pack of 8 (4 each of 2 designs.. I've used the heart design too, which you will see ........... soon). They also include 8 Blushing Bride colored envelopes. So Pretty! Item # 125414 for 9.95. I just love these.. adding just a little can really make a great card in no time flat.. even if you are not much of a stamper! The next item... from page 18 of the Mini, is the Designer Printed Kit, Blossom Builders. Making beautiful flower embellishments for a card or page has never been easier! Double sided printed die cut flowers on textured paper make it so easy to mix and match and layer, one of a kind flowers. Also included in this pack (but not used on this card) - Pink rhinestones exclusive to this kit! You get 2 sheets of these beauties.. love them!!!

Happy New Year!!! Project Life!

Good Day! Happy New Year to ALL of you!!! How is your year going so far? Mine, well hey, its going! Actually so far so good! My nephew is home visiting.. and that means my household is never the same, but it is in a good way. I will miss him when he goes back to Kentucky for his next semester. So, along with the new year, brings... (oh I am not sure about this word).... resolutions! *eeek* Yes.. I said the R word *gasp*. So, have you made any? If so, please post a comment and share.. I'd love to hear yours!

My resolution? Well, this one is going to be fun and do able.. I just need to be dedicated. I guess that is what a resolution is all about tho, right? I have 2 actually.. 1. try to relax more and 2. Project, Life!

What the heck is Project Life? Ahh.. this is my other passion.. photography! I love love love my ink, paper and all those yummy embellishments. I also have this LOVE for photography. I think I have loved having a camera in my hand since I was 10 years old. So, what is this Project, Life all about? Well, along with all the other wonderful things I love (like being a Stampin` Up! Demonstrator), I want to document my year of 2012. I think this will be fun, challenging and help me become a better photographer. It will help me become more aware of those little everyday things that we take advantage of in our life.

So, I'm ready. In fact, I have started my project already. Along with keeping a file for all my photographs, I will be teaching myself digital scrapbooking! Woohoo! I love gadgets.. my ipad, my iphone.. (and working on getting a Mac Book Pro). I have my Nikon D60 (one of my BFF's) and I'm ready! I'm ready to dive into the wonderful world of Digital Scrapbooking! Stampin` Up! had an awesome "My Digital Studio" software and I cannot wait to use it. I'm very excited about this resolution of mine, can you tell?

So, why don't you join me? Your Project Life doesnt have to be digital, but it can be the traditional scrapbook type too! I'm doing a 365.. to take a photo daily. However, you can do it as weekly documents, monthly documents.. the sky is the limit!

I hope whatever you have made as your resolution(s) that it / they bring you much joy along the way.. lets make this the best year yet!!! Welcome, 2012!

Hi Everyone.. Long time no blog. I'm so sorry. I guess I needed to step back for a little bit. I promise after the Holidays Ill be back at things per usual. I must tell you tho, I have been stamping and being creative! I am using some new goodies from the Occasions Mini Catalog ( you are so going to love this stuff!) and from the Sale A Bration Catalog (some beautiful gems in there!). I will post some new "stuff" at that time. but for now, I just wanted to peek on by and wish all of my blog readers a VERY Merry Christmas.. may it be filled with lots of awesomeness and surrounded by those you love. An Advent Calendar - Non Traditional Colors!

I have to laugh because the background of my walls match this Lucky Limeade I used on my Advent Calendar. Its bright! My studio for my crafting is in the basement and if you've not seen my craft room before, you'd understand.. very small windows and only a couple.. so I wanted it bright and cheery.. and that it is! So, I wanted to share this advent calendar with you. I got this idea out of November's Stampin Success magazine that we as demonstrators receive monthly. As soon as I seen this, I fell in love with it. The frame is handmade as well, using lumber from Lowes and white paint that I added water to (to give it a white wash finish) and the background is screen from the other local hardware store. There is a lot of punches used, along with the big shot and dies.. I'll have to make a list.. the colors used: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Poppy Parade. It was a lot of fun to make.. I hope you enjoy the photos.. the frame is 16 x 16.

I really love the Old Olive and Blushing Bride Combination with the Early Espresso.. Its not traditional but.. neither am I! (you should see my pink and white Christmas tree! Ill share a photo, toward the end of this post).

Also, here is a project I posted earlier in my blog that I really like and it says "giving thanks" all over it...It is a mini book, folded from a 12x12 piece of Crumb Cake Textured Cardstock. I then used Early Espresso Card Stock for the insides of the pockets (the lil pieces of removable paper where you can journal or add photos.. or both), along with the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP) and once again using the Early Espresso Ink, along with Pool Party, More Mustard and Pear Pizzazz classic inks. Also used the stamp "thankful thoughts of you" from the Grateful Greetings stamp set. I used the bitty shapes punch pack with the basic pearls to give it a little extra "foo foo". I made the belly band to keep the book closed when not being looked through. I hope you like!

It's Snowing! (In my craft room)

Hi there!! It is snowing! I decided to try something today.. I've used this stuff before.. but with a different die. I was playing with Aluminum Rolled Flashing. I cut out pieces with a utility knife and a straight edge first (you have to be careful.. you do not want jagged edges or you will end up in ER with stitches). I then used three of these 5x5.5 inch pieces under the die.. so when making my "sandwich" i also used 3 of these pieces as "shims". If you do not do this, it really doesn't want to cut it well. I used the Stampin Up snowflake #2 die and went to town. I used 2 per snowflake to give it some extra dimension. I bent the "arms' forward to make it a 3D snowflake and then used a drill to drill a hole in the middle and inserted the brad in the middle. I used some alcohol inks to color them and tada! This is what you then, end up with. I want to put something extra on it.. just not sure what. Let me know your thoughts!

Wow.. it has been a few days since I have posted anything. I'm sorry! Life has been crazy.. very crazy. I am involved in a local Artsie Holiday Show.. the first of 2 weekends is done. I was last minute making things like a mad woman to get some things to display in the show. I want to make more this week.. it all depends on time. I have the last bits of things to do in the kitchen and I'm so happy with how it has come together. Yay!

Ok.. so a little bit of Christmas cheer for you! Are you ready? .....

I found these adorable cans on line. Forgive me because I cannot find the website I ordered them from. Ack! Sorry. Anyway.. they arrived and they were smaller than I had expected. So, I was stumped. What do you do with a tiny little can? They are so darn cute so I had to use them for something. I discovered that 8 candy cane Hershey's kisses fit perfectly inside. How can you go wrong with chocolate, right?

A Quck N Easy Gift.. Stampin Up Style!

Hiya Stampers and Paper Crafters! Have you tried Stampin` Up!s Decor Elements lately? If not.. you should! They are so much fun! Don't think you have to only place these on the walls. There are so many possibilities. I decided to make a cute little gift.. it was SO easy! I got the mug at Wal Mart for a few dollars. I ued Jingle All The Way (the smaller one) 3 inches x 3 5/8 inch in Real Red. U carefully centered it and rubbed it into place. I like to explain them as like a bigger rub on so to speak. :) I then took one of our large (6x8) Cellophane Bags, and filled it with some yummy chocolately treats. I then used some Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, and tied a bow with the 2 candy canes and tada.. you have a great little gift for a friend, co worker, your boss, a teachers gift, neighbors gift... :)

A Christmas Card!

Hi Everyone! Happy Sunday! It has been a while since I have blogged. Yikes! Life has been a bit chaotic. My kitchen is almost done.. its int he final stages of "touch ups" and I couldnt be happier. 4x4 Christmas Card

I love to make smaller cards.. such as 3x3 and 4x4 cards. They are just so darn cute! Here is a 4x4 card idea I found on Mary Fish's blog using the Z Fold.

Taking a 4 x 12 piece of paper, score at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches. Fold into a Z. Embellish with designer series paper 1/8 inch less for each panel and for the inside of your card. Cut a belly band and decorate any way you please.

I'm getting ready for my photography class that I'll be taking with Todd and Brad Reed this weekend. I'm so psyched about it, I could just squeel! This is my third class with them.. and I can't wait. Taking Notes And Checking Them Twice!

Hi there paper crafters! Happy Thursday! Holy cow, the weekend is almost here already! Crazy stuff I tell you! Today I'm posting something that I whipped up real quick. I'm debating if I'd like to do a class or just sell these at the local craft and art fair I will be in, in November. Decisions, decisions! This is a cute little gem to keep in your purse. It is a full 2012 calendar, along with a notepad. What I am trying to find are "stubby" pens to fit inside the tin. I'm still hunting for those little fellas, yet.

Aren't they cute? So so so easy to make.. just a lot of sticky strip (double stick red tape) to make sure all is secure and stays in place. The "Just A Note" is not a stamp, it was made on the computer and printed on Whisper White card stock and then cut with the scallop circle punch. I also used the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper to decorate the tin, along with Lucky Limeade card stock, whisper white card stock, rhinestones and 3/8 inch ruffled ribbon in the In Color, Lucky Limeade. These would make great gifts for friends, neighbors, teachers and more!

Hiya fellow paper crafters!! Today.. I wanted to post a quick little goodie. I got this idea from Angie Juda. These are so quick n easy.. love it! You could decorate these for any season or occasion.. possibilities are endless.

HI there!! I thought I'd blog really quick this morning! Wow.. it's early.. and it's Saturday.What is up with this? LOL. So, as I told you in the last few posts, I have had "creative block". I hate when this happens. So, when all else fails, I go to a few great resources, Stampin Connection, Stampin Success Magazine and my most favorite, blog hopping. Kimberly Van Diepen made these adorable ornaments. Honestly as soon as I seen them, I fell in love with them. Seriously! So, I just had to make a few .. and a few more. It felt good to get away from the techie stuff / kitchen stuff Ive been trying to work through lately and just sit and get inky and burn my fingertips with the hot glue gun! Yes, that does hurt and PLEASE be careful when you use your gun.. yowza. I got the tip of my middle finger. It's not pretty, I tell you!

Hi everyone! Long time no blog! Oh my gosh.. crazy crazy life right now. I have to say.. things are progressing though! My granite was cut today for my countertops for my kitchen. Yahoooo!!! I even got photos of it being cut for my scrapbook. Cool eh? The guys at Surface Expressions think I'm silly but that's okay!

So, onward to something crafty! I am doing a workshop on Tuesday. I'm so excited. This will be workshop #2 for me.. officially! Thank you to my BFF, Lucinda to hostess it. Thank you so much girlie! I've decided to do 3 projects. I will share them with you.. first one will be shared today.. and I may keep you in suspense for the other 2 until after her party. After all, I want this stuff to be kind of a surprise. But.. since I've not been very good at posting.. I thought I'd share this simple card. Hi Everyone! Wow.. I cant believe how fast time is flying lately. I have a list of "need to get done's" and nothing seems to be getting done.. quickly. I am remodeling my kitchen, so this is sort of taking my creative time away from me. There have been some minor obstacles as I will call them and it has been a little frustrating. I'm sure you can relate. A day here.. a day there that things come to a halt and before you know it, the goal I had for things to be done, is far from being met. This is the reason for my lack of creative posts. I'm sorry I haven't kept up to my promise. Life is getting in the way lately. I hope to be back to creating pretty things here soon. Falling For ... Notepads!

Hi there! I am trying to come up with some fun things to sell in a craft event I am invited to be a part of in November. Looking around on line.. I got this really cute idea from the Stamp Doc. Thank you, Melissa! This is just what I needed to kick my creative mojo into gear. It holds a Junior Sized Legal Pad with a matching pen. Isn't it cute?

First Edition Specialty DSP Into A Christmas Tree!

Hi Everyone. Along with making cards, I love to make 3D type items. I guess it is in my blood to alter stuff. I've gotten a lot lighter with my inks but as far as looking for ways to dress stuff up.. I'm always looking for things to tweek.

On Page 21 of the Idea Book and Catalog, this Christmas tree called out to me. I found a Styrofoam cone and went to town. I cut 1 1/2 inch x 12 inch strips of the First Edition DSP and then "fringed" it using scissors, cutting the entire strips of DSP so they all looked like fringe. After fringing, I took my nails and made all those little fringies curl up (this was time consuming but easy). I then used a liquid matte glue to adhere it to the cone and continued to work my way from the bottom to the top of the cone until it was covered. Let that dry. I then made my banner thingy on the top using cherry cobbler and garden green stampin write markers and used the font from the Merry Christmas stamp in the Easy Events set of stamps, on very vanilla card stock.. I used the star fron the On Board Merry Medley and covered it with Tombo glue and then adhered the Stampin` Glitter (Silver) onto it. I took a skewer and adhered the banner and star to that and poked it into the stryofoam tree. I then added tiny slivers of cardstock to give it a little extra color. :)

Falling For Chocolate!

Yummy! Who doesn't love a little treat? Especially when it is something chocolatey! This is a project I did at my first workshop. It was so easy and yet all the gal's just LOVED it! I used the new 1 inch x 8 inch Cellophane Bags in the Holiday Mini Catalog (#124134). I love these.. what a great way to make a little something as a gift and they are so easy to decorate. Quick and easy.. just how I like it! I used the following:

To adhere the tag and button to the bag, I looped the linen thread around the bag, and fed thru the hole of the tag and thru the button, and then tied it tightly into a bow. It holds it snug and securely. :)

Getting More Into Fall

Hi there stamping friends! I finally sat down for a bit to stamp! Yay! This morning I woke up to a lot of hammering and stuff. The drywall guys were here.. YIPPEE! I have "walls" now.. and my kitchen now has a shape other than... insulation. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.. sort of! I was hopping Fred would be here (the main drywall guy) to mud today too.. but I guess I was expecting a bit too much all in one day. So, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

So, onward to today's card! I have 2 BIG favorites right now.. the Spice Cake Suite and the Gently Falling stamp set. Oh my gosh, I am in LOVE!

Hi everyone!! It is Thursday already. Yikes! I had a few minutes to stamp and I wanted to share this with you. I found this original idea here, on Debbie's Blog. It was so cute. The template has some very cute possibilities. I love the Domestic Goddess Suite.. so darn cute.. and trust me, I am far from a domestic goddess (but for today, we will fake it!). I used the simply score tool to make the pattern in the mitten. I used stampin write markers in the following colors: Basic Gray, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. I used Pool Party, Whisper White and Calypso Coral card stock. For a little extra touch, basic rhinestones, and whisper white taffeta ribbon. I have some other ideas flowing now.. stay tuned!

Friends Help Friends Enable Each Other!

Hi there! I'm back and I'm feeling much better after a few days away. I asked a friend of mine to tag along with me to the Chicago area (Oak Brook to be exact) and we had a ball. It has been a while since I was able to just sleep in, shop til I drop and eat til I feel like I will explode! Seriously.. we did! I have no regrets and we had a lot of laughs and we helped each other out enabling each other along the way. Ill share a few photos :)

So, first we hit The Container Store. Ever hear of it? I never had.. til I had been to Chicago. If you are into organization or need anything to help you organize .. this store is for you. Needless to say.. I think we helped out Chicago's economy! We spent.. oh... 2.5 hours in this place? It is huge.. and so many COOL ideas! See that bag Pat has... cool find right there.. at the Container Store. We then were hungry.. so we had to stop at Cheesecake Factory.. not once.. but twice.. roll me home! Oh my!

Ok.. this is another favorite of mine.. thank goodness we do NOT have a Cheesecake Factory nearby. Holy cow! Can you say.. 100000000 calories? LOL. Yowza it was sinfully good. My favorite dish: Chicken and Biscuits.. to die for! Tastes just like my grandma's. Yum! Pat loved the Mac N Cheese Cheeseburger. For dessert, we couldn't leave without cheesecake, right? Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake was definitely a thumbs up!

I shouldnt show this.. but.. it just shows how much fun Pat had while out of town. We did stop in a contraban type of place.. shhh.. but really.. it was fun to look around and to be inspired and to get some ideas along the way.. and I did, too! I found some really cool magazines with templates, and the favorite of mine... Card Creations Magazine (which has a lot of SU stuffed showcased in it as well!).

So then we had to get to Ikea on our way home.. and I found some cool things.. however I couldnt locate this cart that I want for my studio for my big shot and all my dies.. I will get my hands on one yet.. for sure!

Isn't it just cool? It would work perfectly.. Hmm... then I found this funky way cool lamp and it had my imagination going wild..

So, I really should show you something creative today too! We made this at stamp club last week. Jenny, you so rock! I was eyeing this on Shelli Gardner's blog and fell in love with it instantly. When Jenny took the time to make a template for us and told us we'd be making a bat, I was over the moon. So, I just have to show it off..

Now that I am going "batty".. I must fly.. and find something to eat.. Take time to get inky!

A CASE.. so super cute!

Hi Everyone! Today has been a crazy day.. crazy in a good way of course. My very good friend Tammy, was willing to be my first hostess to hold a workshop - I did my very first official workshop today! Yay! It went really well and I'm very excited. I can't wait to do the next one! What a great group of gals.. just had such a wonderful time.

I have to admit, when you think I'm so very creative.. I'm not always creative.. I get into stumbling blocks and I cannot think of something to create.. and that is when I turn to my Stampin Success Magazine (for demonstrators), Stampin Connection (an on line inspiration station so to speak for demonstrators) and also of course, blog hopping. There are SO many places to find inspiration. I even look for it when I'm out and about, doing errands and such.

So, where am I going with all of this? :-) In the Holiday Mini Catalog.. I purchased the Big L Holiday Stocking Die (page 24, item #124098). It is so darn cute! While blog surfing I found this cool use of the die.. in fact 4 ways to use 1 stocking die! Who would have thought? This gals vision was super cool and when I seen it .. i had to make it.. so I wanted to share it with you all here. I will give total credit to Fran as she came up with not only making the stocking a stocking, but also a witches boot, an elf boot and a baby boot! I love the dies.. and its always great to see what other ways a tool can be used - basically its getting more bang for your buck, as they say. Who doesn't want to know how many ways you can use a tool.. it justify's the little extra you spend and it wow's all your friends and family, at the same time. I made 2 of the 4 ideas.. and here they are below. I also used the matchbox die in the middle like Fran did, so you can put little goodies inside and they stand up by themselves.. 3D decorations.. so darn cute! Take a peek below.

Pretty cute if I don't say so myself! LOL. I used the Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, very vanilla cardstock with the 5 Petal Flower Punch, and those cute new adorable mini jingle bells - 48 of those cute little buggers for only 2.95! Yowza.. a great deal!

Ok.. so here another version of the same die cut.. making it into a witche's bootie with attitude and lots of bling using the basic blingy rhinestones.. LOVE these! It's all about the bling! The non SU item is the flashy spider that I found in my stash.. and just had to add it for extra "attitude" :)

I just had so much fun putting these together. Thank you for the inspiration, Fran. Think of other possibilities with this cute diecut too! On this I cut out a circle out of the circle die.. and used a 13/4 inch circle and took a bite out of the bigger circle and attached it to make a pointy boot. I used the window punch to make "straps" and added a lot of bling. I also cut out the heel (freehand).

I will try to post tomorrow, but.. I may not be back until Wednesday. I am taking a few days off and going to do a little retail therapy - I'm SO looking forward to this. Watch out, Chicago! I'm going to find some "inspiration" and some organizing ideas at Ikea and The Container Store.. and lord knows where else.. I'll have to see what I can find. Happy Thursday.. ! Here is the last of the Button Buddy cards that I made recently. This is a cute one using the baby rattles. I added some ribbon and tada!

I also used again, the notecards (that come with the envelopes). I used the Big Shot with the Big L Perfect Pennants and the 3 inch Circle dies. I added a little extra color with the scallop punch and some basic pearls :)

Again, using the layout I seen from Kimbery V's blog.. I did a few different things with these little button guys.

I have not used my purple colors lately so I thought id play with Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wisteria. I did the rock n roll technique with my clear mount stamp (set is again Button Buddies). I also used Elegant Eggplant for my banner, the greeting is from Friendly Phrases (I love this set), and some Basic Pearl's for a little extra something. I used 2 dies with the sizzix big shot: Big L Perfect Pennants and the 3 inch Circle. I cannot forget the button from the Regals Collection.

Here is a super quick card using the button buddies! I really like this set.. its super quick and easy to make a card. I also used the Note Cards (#107311) which come in a pack of 20 (with envelopes too!). The cards are 5 x 3 1/2 and the envelopes are 5 1/8 x 3 5/8 inches. This set is a great way to use up misc buttons that you have hanging around and they make adorable cards. :)

Now.. for the scary part.. this is my kitchen.... its as scary as Halloween:

Um.. yeah LOL.. I know it will be beautiful when it is done... but living w/ my home this way is really not fun at the moment. When my home is in chaos.. I feel chaos.. I feel sorta scatterbrained lately.. BUT.. it will get better and it will be very pretty.................. in a few months.. In the meantime.. take out is my middle name!

Good day to you! Thank you for stopping by today. This card took me a little time to assemble. It is not that it was a difficult card, but this was made very late at night and honestly I shouldn't have been stamping, yet I didn't want to stop. Sound familiar? :) I was on a roll but... I was so tired.. I made a few silly goofs and went thru more paper than I should have. Lesson learned... know when to stop stamping and get to bed! :-) I loved this card as soon as I spotted it in the Holiday Mini Catalog. The whole idea of the new shaker frames REALLY caught my eye! There is a side of me that LOVES altered things.. windows, niches and doors.. so I really wanted to play with the shaker frames.

Tip: Make sure when using the Shaker Frames, that your Shaker Frame is BIGGER than the hole you punch (this way the shaker frame foam doesn't show through your window). This was the silly lack of sleep mistake I kept doing.. (blonde moment!)

Ok.. look at this card. Do you see anything odd about it? *giggling* ... When I made this card, I was not feeling well.. and when I stamped the witch on the broom, she then became backwards witchypoo. She is just a slight bit dyslexic - tee hee. So much for aerodynamics on her broomstick! I used Peach Parfait, Basic Black and Pick Your Poison DSP. I love this set, Out On A Limb. It was a fun card to make and it just makes me smile... up up and away!!!

Hi Everyone! I missed posting yesterday. I'll let you know why! (you want to know, right?) Oh my I have a mess in my house. I'd share a picture but I'm not sure which angle is better (or should I say worse? LOL). I am remodeling my kitchen. It is a complete disaster. Goodness! I am now starting to be the queen of take out. I know when its all done it will be worth the mess but right now I'm feeling out of sorts with my house all tore up and things piled up all over the place. Im such a tidy gal.. this is really really hard for me! LOL.. In the meantime.. I will try very hard to keep posting daily. :) Here is today's card:

Tada!! Yes.. another card featuring the Beau Chateau Suite. I really love this suite.. the soft colors are so yummy together. I used Soft Suede as the card base and also featuring again, the Beau Chateau Side notes and the Crumb Cake Ribbon... antique brad and a button from the subtles collection. I hope you like it.. Hi there! As I post tonight, I have to admit.. the thought of picking up a stamp exhausts me. I am pretty darn pooped out today.. but I didn't want to go without a blog post. I'm trying very hard to blog daily. We will see how long I can do this.. :) Today I closed and winterized my pool. For something that is only open for just over 3 months.. that sure is a LOT of work.. and I don't even use it. Long story but.. I'm just glad this job is DONE! Onward with Fall, please!

So, this card pretty much duplicates yesterdays post.. just using different colors for the base, Marina Mist. I used the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and the Side Notes that work right along with the suite. I water colored with the Marina Mist ink pad and the Aqua Painter (inside the flowers) and I stamped in Marina Mist with the Perfectly Penned "Happy Birthday" stamp. I used the Fancy Flower punch and an Antique Brad. I topped it off with some crumb cake seam binding ribbon (I love this stuff!)

I have a cool little tip: when scrunching up your paper flowers, dampen your flowers after punched with Stampin Mist Stamp Cleaner. I know.. this sounds weird but it almost acts like a starch when the flower dries. It helps the paper become very pliable and while its damp you can mold it to the shape you like. While it was still damp, I added the brad and scrunched it some more until I was happy with its shape and let it dry over night. Pretty neato stuff! So, go for it.. punch, scrumch and spritz - make a few flowers to put on a card.

I really really love this Suite. It is called Beau Chateau. It features the following colors:

Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla...

So soft and pretty.. I wanted to make some Birthday cards with it. I also used the Side Notes from Beau Cheteau. I love these.. they are uniquely shaped die cut tags and accents that offer a quick way to add dimension, texture and journaling to any project. They are heavyweight felt weave paper. There are 24 to a packet. They coordinate beautifully with the Beau Chateau Suite.

Also used: the Perfectly Penned Clear Stamp Set, Soft Suede Ink, Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder along with Marina Mist card stock for the flower along with the Fancy Flower punch, Antique Brads (love these!) and Crumb Cake 1/2 inch Seam Binding Ribbon. This ribbon is so easy to work with.. even I can tie a pretty bow! :-)

As fall approaches, I'm getting in the mood. I love love love this set.. called "Gently Falling". I think it is one of my favorite stamp sets in the new Holiday Mini Catalog. It is so versatile. I love the colors in the Spice Cake Suite. I know I keep saying this.. but its so true! They are so pretty.. and who would have thought pool party would have been in the mix? I'm really digging this new in color.

This is a mini scrapbook. I had gotten this idea originally from my good and very talented friend (and upline!) Jenny. I thought I'd make a fall version of this cute little project.. I really think it turned out adorable!

Sour Cream Container?

That is what this reminds me of. Aren't they cute? Get a peek at that fabric!!! I'm not a seamstress nor will I ever try to be (I know my limitations!), but I have to say, if any fabric has "sold" me.. its the Stampin Up Fabrics. Oh my gosh they are so beautiful.. and the best part.. they tear wonderfully to give that "shabby chic" kinda look, which I love! Today I used colors from the Spice Cake Suite! This is some of the yummy things you can find in the new Holiday Mini Catalog. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this suite. I love the colors featured in this: soft suede, more mustard, pool party, pear pizzaz, river rock, and very vanilla. Its so soft and so fall!

These little favors are so easy to make! Think of the possibilities for the holidays: teacher gifts, a little something for a neighbor, a dining room table decoration with an extra goodie tucked inside. The possibilities are endless with these.. for any season or party theme or reason!

To make:

Cut your paper or card stock into a square or rectangle in the size you desire. I used 5 1/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches piece of card stock.

Roll your paper to form a cylinder and adhere the sides together using Sticky Strip (snail just doesnt quite to the trick). I rolled mine widthwise to form a cylinder that was 4 1/4 inches tall.

Close one end of the cylinder, and adhere, using sticky strip.

Fill the twisty favor about 2/3 full with a treat of your choices, leaving space at the top to close and crimp the favor.

Close the top so that it is perpendicular to the bottom, and adhere, using sticky strip.

Finish by crimping both ends and adding any embellishments you like! Tada... instant party favors and guaranteed smiles!

Ok.. here is yet another Halloween goodie for you, using once again, the Pick Your Poison Product Suite in the *NEW* Holiday Mini Catalog! I found this little box at a craft store and covered it using basic black ink, and DSP from the suite. I also used Quick Accents from the Pick Your Poison Suite (page 8 and 9 of the Mini). I used our wonderful Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make the rosette.

Hi Everyone!! Happy Sunday. I thought Id post a quickie little project I made. I was visiting Kimbery Van Diepen's blog and seen she used this die.. I've had it and I wasnt sure what to do with it.. and after I CASE'd the one that she made.. I had to make another. I must say.. this die is ADDICTING!! It is a must have.. so darn cute! I'm thinking gift card holder for the holidays for family and friends :) Anyway.. I thought I'd share both my CASE'd project (that is, Copy And Savor EVERYTHING... tee hee) and then the one I made afterwards. I stuck with the same color scheme.. kinda dig the Crumb Cake with Island Indigo and Pool Party. I wasn't so into blue until these 2 colors came to be.. love love love them!

Hi Everyone! I thought I'd try to stamp today. It didnt really go as planned. Usually I'll think of a layout for a card in my head and then piece it together. It didnt look like I imagined it to look, so I started to take it apart and re start.. using some bits and pieces. I love the Best Friend Forever set. It has "vintage" written all over it. I love how soft it looks when using Soft Suede on Very Vanilla Cardstock.. then I tossed in some Pink Pirouette and tada! I added a Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon and some Basic Pearls.. and this is what I came up with.

Hi Everyone... I have a scary thing to show you! I just LOVE Halloween! I received my Stampin Success magazine that we as demonstrators receive every month (I stalk the postal carrier for this thing - no joke!) and it is an awesome perk to have being a demonstrator, I must say. I seen a wonderful article in the September issue featuring Teresa Giodano and her projects inspired this one below. Remember the bird houses I made recently? This is using the same pattern but, using the BRAND spankin` new stamp sets that will be in the NEW Holiday Mini Catalog. Oh my there are some awesome things in this mini... just sayin! If you'd like to receive one, make sure to contact me and I'll get one in your hot little hands... This is using the new stamp set called Out On A Limb. I also used the Old Olive Cardstock for the house, Basic Black Cardstock on the rooftop and Pumpkin Pie for the cut out pumpkins. This just gets me in the mood for Halloween!

Hi there, everyone. I thought I'd post this cute wreath I made between working the desk at my Inn. I cut the paper and took my Simply Scored tool to my desk and scored strips of paper through the day to make this scary Halloween decoration. Isn't it cute? I used the Frightful Sight DSP which has Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Basic Gray, Old Olive and Basic Black SU colors featured. I love love love this Designer Series paper.. !! Although, I must admit, I am a paper - holic and there really isnt a paper that I dont love. Stampin Up paper rocks. I love that SU coordinates their cardstocks with the DSP, the marker and the ink pads. It makes it so easy to match everything up (I'm a matching kinda girl!) and make projects. Our new tool, that will be available September 1st, the Simply Scored, rocks my socks. It makes it so easy to make projects like this one below! If you'd like to learn more about this project, the scoring tool I used, or just simply would love to have a girls night out stamping, contact me! Happy Sunday! I have a quick card to show you.. I really love the simplicity of this card yet it looks so elegant. We did this card in stamp club too. We did the technique of double embossing. You use versamark and put it on the Embossing folder, run it through the Big Shot, and then emboss it with embossing powder and a heat tool. It is just such a cool effect - a definite wow factor!

Tada! A beautiful card!!! Take time to get inky! This week I'll have some fun things for Halloween to show you.

I am loving the projects that were made at stamp club. I have to show you this.. because I just thought this was brilliant! We used the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die (page 221 item # 123131) and made it into a box. Isn't this just awesome? I can see so many seasonal possibilities with this! LOVE it!!! We also used the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (oval one) and then used the Large Oval Punch. The stamp set used was Creative Elements (#122647) and we stamped the flower in that set 3 times with 3 different inks. We then used some of the beautiful Lucky Limeade Ribbon to close the box. When using the Petite Pocket die, you will want to cut off about 2.5 inches (see picture below). Colors used: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, and Island Indigo along with Whisper White cardstock and Island Indigo Cardstock.

You will need to cut out 4 of the pocket envelopes with the Big Shot and cut this much off of each end to make the box. When you assemble it.. it will come out looking like this...........

So darn pretty! I love the colors we used on this.. I cant wait to do more boxes in different themes! I'm thinking Holidays already. Take time to get inky!

Hi Everyone. I thought Id showcase the beautiful projects we made at stamp club this past week. I really love this background stamp, called Hello Doily. Depending on the color used with this stamp, it just can give it a totally different look. The new tool coming out in September was used called on this Yo Yo called the Simply Scored tool. Just wait until you get your hands on this - it is so awesome. Later next week I will post a wreath I have made for Halloween with this awesome new tool! Stay tuned.. ! With my job comes LONG hours.. working weekends.. and holidays.. and I just dont get to have the time to enjoy summer like many do. I miss that.. I miss it a lot. Tonight I finally decided to take time out for me and head down to Lake Michigan, which is only 1 mile away from my home. We have the MOST beautiful beaches here and the most awesome sunsets. Look at what I got to view tonight...

Isnt that awesome? The sound of the water hitting the shore and a distant laughter of the kids playing in the sand. Summer time here is awesome. I just wish it was like this year around.. ;) Take time out for YOU.. have a great night!

Using a color combo I didn't think I'd like.

Good Morning! I thought I'd try a color combo that I seen in the IB&C on page 90. I used Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo and River Rock. At first, I really didn't like River Rock. I have to say, it's definitely an unusual color. But, the more I use it, the more it is growing on me :) I also used the Best Friend Forever stamp set (which I am really digging!). I also used the Scallop Circle and Circles #2 dies with the sizzix big shot machine. I used the fancy flower die and pucned 2 out of Elegant Eggplant. I also used the Bird Builder (stem) on the flower for a little extra "something" along with the tiny tags (and punch) and for an added touch.. a In Color brad (love these cute little things!). I used the spritzer tool with the river rock stampin write marker :) Have a great saturday!! Get inky!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Thursday! Wow.. this week is buzzing by FAST. Some days there are just not enough hours to squeeze in everything I wanna do. I did find a little time to stamp with my stampin bud, Lucinda. We made some rockin cards if I don't say so myself.. soooo... finally, I have some stampin art to blog! Woohoo! Here is a card using up some of my left over Sale A Bration DSP and Quick Accents Pack called Ice Cream Parlor. The Fun Flowers Die was also used with the Melon Mambo and Peach Parfait papers from that pack. I used a Pumpkin Pie button and Linen Thread for the middle of the flower and the Friendly Phrases stamp set. This card just makes me smile.. it says "happy" all over it!

I thought I'd share a little something. I decided that I want to take my Stampin Up business a little more seriously and I'd like to do workshops starting in the fall. I'm very excited and nervous about this. I believe it will be a LOT of fun!!! I'm really looking forward to this. In the meantime, I made a display in my Lobby area of my Inn.. and I thought I'd share a little bit of what I did gather and assemble :) I hope you like!

And.. with fall comes those pretty fall decorations and the Halloween holiday..! I like fall. I just do not like what comes after fall. I loved Project Park at Convention. I could go visit it a few times a day and see something different each time. So much to inspire us.. I loved it. I thought I'd share a few photos with you.

The other thing I love with fall approaching.. the new Holiday Mini Catalog *drool*. Oh my .. wait until you see what is inside.. all I can say is.. TO DIE FOR stuff! I love it all.. !! I can pre order as of tomorrow. I'm so excited! Have a great Sunday and take time to get inky!

Hi everyone.. I finally did something crafty and I DO have a smile on my face! I didn't stamp a card.. instead I decided to make some more bird houses. I made the Lucky Limeade one about a month ago.. and I've added to its family so I have one in every In Color of the new In Colors for 2011-2013. They are so cute! I was at a craft store recently and I found some cool candle holders that Ive taken some white crackle paint to and they are drying as we speak.. and Ill set the houses up on them. Now.. I just need some more In Color ribbon! :) Here are a few pictures... enjoy!! :-)

Summertime Crazyness

Hi Everyone! As you have seen, I have been slacking on my blog. I really miss being creative. My inn has been so busy (which is very good.. this means.. I can buy MORE stamps! LOL), but my personal life comes to a halt and I really really miss my "inky" therapy. In fact, I think I'm starting to get crabby! *gasp* So, soon, you will see a creative Dawn once again. (maybe even.............. tomorrow?). I hope to sneak down to my craft studio and get a little messy and creative and get my happy face back on!

I hope your summer has been wonderful and you are enjoying every minute of it. Sometimes I get a bit bummed, because I really love summer.. and the season I enjoy most.. I have to work long hours. I see everyone enjoying my pool and I wish it was me! (thank goodness for fake baking!).

So, I hope this finds you well and stay tuned... maybe.. just maybe, I will have a pretty little card to post. :) In the meantime.. take time to get inky.. and have fun!

Hi everyone! I am home.. back to reality! Wowee, what a week! It feels like I was gone for a LONG time. The first few days were fun but after classes kicked in, things flew by. Today I slept in, .. and now playing catch up with life. I thought I'd take a minute to share a few quick pics from Stampin Up Convention 2011! All I can say is... AMAZING! Thank you to my roomies, Jenny and Sue, who were awesome and were patient with a "first timer". It really was a lot of fun! Have an amazing day!!!

Long Time No See...

Hi Everyone. Woweee... I have been busy! The inn is nutty right now, which is good.. I cannot complain. However, I have only a few days to get 20 things done - ACK! It is ok..I have a list.. checking it twice and slowly getting things done before I leave for the Stampin Up Convention early Tuesday morning. I cannot tell you how excited I am that I get to go. This is my first convention!! I will definately be sharing photos with you when I return home. I will be back on Sunday the 17th. I thought I'd share a little something that I made for swapping with others at Convention. I wasn't going to do this. I decided after all the talk from other demonstrators that they were going to be swapping.. I thought maybe I'd feel left out. I got this idea for my "post it note books" on Angie Juda's blog. These are so simple to make and I wanted to use a few of the new in colors: Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade along with the Posy Punch Hostess Set (which I stamped in Basic Black). I used my crimper for the "binding" and also used some Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon to dress them up a little bit. Inside you find post it notes.. I used about 1/4 of a post it note pad for each. They are so simple to make. In case I am unable to post before I go.. have a GREAT week and I will see you after the 17th of July.

Ooooh and I just have to share this.. this is my 6 month old puppy, Krystal. She suffered while I dressed her up for the 4th Of July holiday...

Hi everyone! So, I've needed some stamping mojo. I am not sure but maybe the longer hours of working every day are taking its toll. I wanted to stamp but Id go into my studio and just stare blankly at my stamps. This morning I went blog hopping and I instantly got some inspiration from Anne Hile . She makes some amazing things and after seeing her card and candle, I just had to make a card using PINK. Pink is my favorite color. Pink is the color of my family room! If I could, I'd own a pink SUV. Seriously.. I dig pink! So, here is the card that I made, inspired by Anne - thank you Anne! I will be meeting friends for a birthday celebration and this card is perfect with the gift bag and treats inside it.

Beautiful Butterflies And A Card In The Mail

Happy Saturday Stampin' Friends! While doing some laundry, I decided to get a little inky. I got my imspiration for this card HERE . I loved how she used the butterflies. I thought Id make the card using a few different colors just for kicks. Here is what I came up with:

I seen this card in the July 2011 Stampin Success Magazine that I get monthly being a demonstrator. I loved Tara Bilbao's style and colors. I thought I'd give it a try! Let me know what you think! We made this card in stamp club. Jenny has a way of making me love stamp sets I'd probably not order otherwise. What is up with that? Tee Hee! I love the feel of this card..
